Rocky View Regional Handibus operates on a reservation model. Call the booking office with your trip details, mobility aid information, and return pickup time.

Booking office hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

When to book

Please reserve your trip as early as possible. Trips may be booked up to three weeks in advance and are scheduled based on availability.

When making a reservation, please have your trip information ready. This helps the booking office schedule the ride properly and confirm any accessibility needs.

Actual pickup times may be adjusted based on scheduling needs. Pickup times are normally confirmed the business day before travel.

  • Name and date of travel.
  • Pickup address and destination address.
  • Requested drop-off or arrival time.
  • Requested return pickup time.
  • Number of people travelling with you.
  • Mobility aid details, such as wheelchair, walker, cane, or scooter.
  • A destination contact number or your cell phone number.

Trips are scheduled on a first-booked basis, depending on availability, routing, and rider needs.

Pickup is confirmed

Your actual pickup time may be confirmed the business day before your trip. Please be ready early.

Trip types

Demand response requests
Trips can be booked up to three weeks in advance. These bookings are arranged depending on availability.

Standing bookings
Repeated trips to and from the same destinations may be requested for specific days each week. Several days notice is required, and transportation is still based on availability.

Plan ahead

Allow extra time for shared transportation.

Rocky View Regional Handibus covers a large service area and operates as a shared-ride service. Travel may take longer than driving directly by personal vehicle.

Riders may also be scheduled for a pickup or drop-off window that allows other passengers to reach their destinations safely and efficiently.

Cancellations and no-shows

Please call as soon as plans change.

Cancelling early helps the booking office open the space for another rider and helps avoid unnecessary travel time for the driver.

If you are delayed or no longer need the ride, call the booking office as soon as possible.

Important reminders

  • Please be ready when the bus arrives.
  • The driver may arrive up to 15 minutes early.
  • The driver can wait up to 5 minutes at the pickup location.
  • Repeated no-shows may affect access to service.
  • After-hours voicemail is available for cancellation messages.

Fares and payment

Fares are based on distance travelled.

Fare rates are based on travel distance and are one-way travel rates. Additional stops may have an added fee.

Attendants and companions

Tell the booking office who is travelling with you.

One attendant may travel at no cost when assistance is required, but the attendant’s seat must be reserved when the trip is booked.

Companions may travel depending on available space and are charged the regular fare. Please provide details when booking so the bus can be scheduled safely.

Mobility aids

  • Let the office know what mobility aid you use when booking.
  • Mobility aids must fit safely on the vehicle lift.
  • Some mobility devices may not be suitable for transportation.
  • Drivers must be able to safely secure the mobility aid.

Safe loading

Pickup locations must be safe and accessible.

Drivers need a safe place to load and unload passengers. Pickup areas should be clear of snow, ice, debris, and other hazards.

Some driveways, roads, or entrances may not be suitable for a large accessible vehicle. Please confirm accessibility details when booking.
